The works on this disc, performed by Andrew Zolinsky, span nearly twenty years of Michael Zev Gordon’s composition - from the sparkling dissonances of Touch to the more lyrical sequence On Memory, which recalls the connections we make between memories in its series of twelve miniatures - which take inspiration from sources as diverse as Couperin, Klezmer dance and Bill Evans's jazz compositions.
