Browse Huddersfield Contemporary Records here

Founded in 2009, Huddersfield Contemporary Records (HCR) is a label devoted to new music. Based at the University of Huddersfield, and established in partnership between CeReNeM (the Centre for Research in New Music), Huddersfield University Press, and hcmf//, HCR features both established and emerging artists at the cutting edge of music making, including diverse innovations in instrumental composition, electronics, and free improvisation.

Birmingham Record Company presents eclectic and exciting new releases by artists who challenge, innovate and transform ideas of music today. Based at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the heart of the UK and with an international outlook.

 


 

Browse Psappha here

Psappha was the North West’s only stand-alone professional contemporary classical music ensemble. Founded in 1991 the group was dedicated to commissioning, performing and promoting new music – particularly by living composers and emerging musicians.

Throughout its 32-year career, Psappha commissioned and premiered music by more than 500 composers, and also launched its own record label in 2004. Since September 2021 NMC has distributed the Psappha catalogue as part of NMC Services. As the organisation closed its doors in 2023, they signed over the full rights to NMC for all their releases, ensuring that these important recordings remain fully available globally and in perpetuity.

A completely unique concept, Club Inégales is based at Euston London where Peter Wiegold has directed some 80 performances since 2011. Guests have included, free improviser Evan Parker, folk singer Chris Wood and early music specialist Paula Chateauneuf.

The Club Inégales label draws from these cross-genre, cross-discipline collaborations, releasing highlights of the work of the resident band Notes Inégales with various partners. The music is directed by composer Peter Wiegold, and the co-director of the label is composer Martin Butler.

The London Sinfonietta’s recordings present a catalogue of 20th-century classics, on numerous prestigious labels as well as the ensemble's own London Sinfonietta Label and NMC Recordings.
