This major collection of chamber music is the first fruit of an artistic collaboration between Kenneth Hesketh and Psappha ensemble The collection includes Dei destini incrociati (2002), Aphorisms (1995), Fra Duri Scogli (2002), Three Pieces in the Shape of a Shoe (2005) and Theatre of Attractions (2007).

Liverpool-based composer Kenneth Hesketh has been described as "one of the UK's most vibrant voices, having a brand of modernism that reveals true love for sound itself" (International Piano). Hesketh's natural flair for the theatrical has led to him composing much work for the stage and the screen. His score for Theatre of Attractions inhabits a dark soundworld, burbling with manically repeating rhythms, whilst other works explore ideas of the mechanical in music.

"Hesketh’s is pure music, in possessing – because the notes seem to be creating their own harmonic and rhythmic forces and processes – a great freshness" (Griffiths). After its original release in 2008, Kenneth Hesketh: Theatre of Attractions is being reissued as part of Psappha's new partnership with the label NMC Recordings, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the ensemble.
